Black Pepper Essential Oil | What is it and why is it useful?



Black Pepper is a Perennial woody plant with heart shaped shiny leaves and yellow-green or white flowers which turn into berries that are also referred to as peppercorns.

Core uses
Herbalists often use Black Pepper essential oil to treat digestive complaints. Black Pepper is also known to warm tight muscles and relive joint pains. It has a reputation for having an aphrodisiac quality which makes it great in massage oil blends for couples to use.

Extraction
This essential oil is usually Steam distilled.

Characteristics
Black Pepper Essential Oil is usually clear or pale green and thin.

 Blending
Black pepper is best used in small amounts, it blends well with other spice oils and most florals. Particularity well with Marjoram, lemongrass and cedarwood.
